چکیده

Plants of the cannabis (Cannabis sativa L., marijuana) strain ‘Chronic Ryder’, grown outdoors in Fraser Valley British Columbia (BC), displayed symptoms powdery mildew late July 2019. The disease progressed rapidly under cool, wet conditions to infect leaves, stems, shoot tips and inflorescences by early September. To identify pathogen, DNA was extracted from healthy diseased leaves subjected PCR using eukaryotic universal primers that amplified ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 region rDNA. A 650 bp band present only plants, showed 99.45% sequence homology Podosphaeria macularis, pathogen infects hop plants. In greenhouse-grown infected with Golovinomyces ambrosiae, a 700 size present. Conidial morphology also distinguished two pathogens – P. macularis produced ovoid-oval conidia fibrosin bodies, while G. ambrosiae cylindrical-oblong no bodies. survey mildew-infected fields indoor growing facilities different geographical locations BC, plants were exclusively either or respectively. Inoculations macularis-infected leaf segments placed on ‘Pink Kush’ high humidity at 22–26°C gave rise small colonies after 24–35 days, confirmed be PCR. Development slower compared ambrosiae. date, one outdoor location for has been have macularis; potential spread other sites cultivation is unknown.

Infestation of Transgenic Powdery Mildew-Resistant Wheat by Naturally Occurring Insect Herbivores under Different Environmental Conditions

A concern associated with the growing of genetically modified (GM) crops is that they could adversely affect non-target organisms. We assessed the impact of several transgenic powdery mildew-resistant spring wheat lines on insect herbivores. The GM lines carried either the Pm3b gene from hexaploid wheat, which confers race-specific resistance to powdery mildew, or the less specific anti-fungal ...

Lasiodiplodia theobromae is a Mycoparasite of a Powdery Mildew Pathogen

Powdery mildews on over 40 plants in Bangalore were screened during July-December of 2003~2008. Isolates from mycoparasitised Oidium caesalpiniacearum of Bauhinia purpurea comprised Lasiodiplodia theobromae, in addition to Ampelomyces quisqualis. Koch's postulates were satisfied to establish the mycoparasitism of L. theobromae. This is the first report that L. theobromae acts as a mycoparasite ...

A complex protein derivative acts as biogenic elicitor of grapevine resistance against powdery mildew under field conditions

Powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe necator is one of the most important grapevine diseases in several viticulture areas, and high fungicide input is required to control it. However, numerous synthetic chemical pesticides are under scrutiny due to concerns about their impact on human health and the environment. Biopesticides, such as biogenic elicitors, are a promising alternative to chemical fun...
